Account and sign-in
How do I turn on two-factor sign-in?
Go to your account's security settings and set up an authenticator app. You'll get eight single-use recovery codes; keep them somewhere safe, because each one works once if you lose your device.
Can my organization require two-factor sign-in?
Yes. An owner or administrator who has two-factor turned on can require it for the whole workspace. Members without it are blocked from the workspace until they set it up, and the settings page lists who still needs to. API keys aren't affected.
How do I sign out of other devices?
Your account's security settings list your active sessions. Revoke any session you don't recognize and it's signed out at once.
Why was I asked to wait before signing in again?
Sign-in and two-factor attempts are rate limited to protect your account. Wait a few minutes and try again.
Team and roles
What roles are there?
Eight are built in: Owner, Administrator, Editor, Contributor, Approver, Analyst, Billing Manager and Viewer. Editors and contributors write; approvers approve, publish, authorize distribution and send outreach; analysts and viewers read. On Business plans and above you can build custom roles from any permission you hold, except deleting the organization.
How do I invite someone?
From your team settings, invite them by email with a role. Invitations expire after seven days and can be withdrawn before they're accepted.
Can an editor approve their own release?
Not with the built-in roles: editors write, approvers approve. For financial announcements, two approvals are needed and neither can come from the person who asked.
Writing and approval
How do I start a release?
Start from a blank page, import an existing release, answer the guided questionnaire for your type of announcement, or give the AI a brief to draft from.
Why can't I approve this release?
An approval gate is open. A figure that isn't in your brief, sources or company profile, a quote without its speaker's approval, an open high-severity flag or a missing headline all block approval. Fix the text, record the quote approval, or dismiss the flag with a reason, and the gate clears.
What does the AI change on its own?
Nothing. AI changes come back as suggestions shown before and after, and the draft changes only when someone accepts one. A suggestion made against older text can't overwrite newer work.
I edited the release after asking for approval. What happens?
A pending approval belongs to one exact version, so saving a change makes it stale. Ask for approval again on the new version.
Two of us edited at once. Whose changes win?
Neither silently. If someone saved first, you're told and can keep yours or load theirs. Every saved version is kept, and any of them can be restored.
Public newsroom
How do I publish to my newsroom?
Once a release is approved, publish it now or schedule it. Set up your newsroom first; its page shows your company profile, media contacts and leadership.
How do I correct a published release?
Publish a correction with a public note. Readers see that it was corrected and why, rather than a silent rewrite. You can also unpublish a release.
Does my newsroom have an RSS feed?
Yes. Every public newsroom has one, and each release page carries structured data for search engines.
Distribution
How is distribution priced?
Each network prices each release. Choose regions and industries and you'll see the network's own price, Codira PR's fee on its own line, whether the quote is binding or an estimate, and when it expires.
When am I charged?
Only after someone with permission approves the cost. With prepaid credits there's one debit per order; internal workspaces pay nothing but still record the network's cost.
What if a submission fails?
Each submission tries three times. If it still fails, the order is kept with the error and you can retry without a new charge. Cancel instead and you're refunded once. A failed order that isn't retried is cancelled and refunded after 72 hours.
Does distributed mean published?
No. A network's delivery report is recorded as newswire distribution. A journalist's own story counts as coverage only once it's found and verified.
Media relations
How many journalists can I pitch at once?
Up to 50 per campaign, with a daily cap for the workspace. Pitches that are all the same text are caught, and each pitch gets one follow-up at most, after at least three days.
Why was a contact left out of my send?
They unsubscribed, their address bounced, or they're on a suppression list. Those people are never emailed.
Can I see who opened my pitch?
No. Codira PR doesn't track opens or clicks. Mark a pitch as replied when you hear back.
AI credits and plans
What uses AI credits?
A full draft from a brief uses 6, a command or a check 2, and a set of headline options 1. Release Assistant calls count too, whether or not they succeed.
What happens when I run out?
A run that would go past your monthly allowance is refused with a message. It's never billed as overage.
Where are the plan limits?
On the pricing page, which reads them from the same place the product enforces them.
API and webhooks
What can an API key do?
A key acts for the person who made it, within the scopes you choose. It can never approve, publish, submit distribution, send outreach, or manage people, billing or credentials. The secret is shown once; only a hash is stored.
How do I rotate a key?
Rotate it from the API keys page. The old key keeps working for 24 hours so you can switch over. You can also set an expiry or revoke a key at once.
How do I verify a webhook?
Each delivery carries a Codira-Signature header: a timestamp and an HMAC-SHA256 of the timestamp and body, made with your endpoint's secret. Endpoints must be public HTTPS addresses; failed deliveries are retried with backoff, and 15 failures in a row switch the endpoint off.
